Sponsor Scout: A puppy of two halves!
First, there’s calm Scout. Reserved Scout. The Scout that sits, observes, and learns. The gentle Scout that, according to Pam, the volunteer who’s looking after her, “likes to lie on my feet when I’m washing up and follows me everywhere.”
Then, there’s full-on Scout!
The Scout that enjoys mad moments dashing around and around and around in the garden. The Scout that runs up to you and nibbles your ears. The Scout that steals your slippers and makes off with them. The Scout that, again according to Pam, “watches me intently when I’m getting her food with little squeaks of excitement, then bounces and spins as she follows me to her eating place.”
So, she’s a puppy of two halves. We love both halves, of course. She makes a complete whole – fun, loving, cheeky, gentle and adorable. She’s certainly a life-changer. A deaf person will learn to love life again with little Scout around to help them, and entertain them too.
Training progress: A natural student
Pam tells us: “She’s very much a studier. She naturally sits and watches. She’s definitely on the ball.” We think so too. She’s doing really well in her puppy classes because of her two sides: taking it all in, assessing it, and, when she’s confident, going for it. She’s not just a very pretty face – she’s also a clever little girl and this is a fantastic trait for a hearing dog.
Will Scout become more reserved, more outgoing, or both? Will she always like to nibble people’s ears and steal their slippers? Will she continue to be a superstar in her training? How will she eventually help a deaf person? Sponsor Scout today and find out!
